What Type of Foam is Used for Upholstered Furniture
What type of foam is used for upholstered furniture
This is the type of foam I use at Cape Cod Upholstery Shop.
For seats cushions I use a 2.6 density foam with a medium compression of 35 lb. (called 2635)
For back cushions I use a 2.6 density foam with a soft compression of 27 lb. (called 2627)
All foam cushions are wrapped in either bonded dacron or stitched dacron batting. Wrapping foam cushions with dacron batting is recommended by all fabric manufacturers to extend the life of the fabric by reducing friction.
Keep in mind there are many variables depending on your needs and budget.
